Protest Fred Phelps by supporting the LGBTQ community!

  • Join us Now, $500 already been raised!

  • The RU12? 180 Minute Challenge! Help Vermont End Hate!
  • On the day that Marriage Equality comes to Vermont, Tuesday, September 1st, the Westboro Baptist Church and Fred Phelps is coming to Montpelier and Burlington with his "God Hates Fags" and anti-Semitic messages.
  • Counter Phelps’ message by helping RU12? end hate and build community: Pledge a dime, a quarter, a dollar or two dollars, (or however much you can!) to RU12? for the expected number of minutes WBC is picketing in Vermont.

WBC is expected to protest for 3 hours - that's 180 minutes. Will you help put these minutes to a better purpose? Please hurry! This is a limited fundraiser ending on Tuesday, September 8th!!!

    Please contribute TODAY!

A DIME per expected minute would be $18. A QUARTER = $45. Please make a donation in whatever amount you wish today!

I was with RU12 on this until today's BFP article on it. With the wider knowledge now of their protest, we MUST make a presence. I can't state that more strongly. I was a victim of a vicious hate crime in 1991. We have to make clear that this is not our way. I find their hyperbole beyond offensive. I will be there to protest their ridiculous presence and I hope others will be also.

They have been doing this same kind of thing across the country for years. They do it for media attention to "spread the word". Getting directly involved only fans the media fires giving the group exactly what they are after. They have protested funerals (Matthew Shepard's, and many fallen soldiers'), Jewish Temples, schools, and more all over the country with their extremist message of hate. Let them spew their hatred, I like to think that most Vermonters are enlightened enough not to listen to a word of it. Don't give them the attention they are looking for, no matter how tempting it may be to sink to their level and throw the hate right back in their faces!

After reading and further researching articles about the Westboro Baptist Church (godhatesfags.com) As a father, husband, hell as a human, I am enraged that they have the right to protest and push people the way do.
But they do! And it would wrong to stop them (ie; freedom of speech etc.) They also love a good law suit. I am far from an activist, but I am standing up to say fighting hate with hate breeds more hate. WBC loves free press and free coverage. This is a day of Love and Marriage, I want to stage Vermonts first "Kiss-in". "Make out for Tolerance", Ignore the ignorance, kiss the one you love. Bring a spouse, partner, child, pet, granny. Don't let them ruin the party, check out their web site for the protest schedule, Montpelier High School is stop number one, the state house is two. I'll be right up front making out with my wife. They hate everyone, lets show them a little Love- writetohaynes@hotmail.com
