Seeking Volunteer Private Guardian
The Office of the Public Guardian is seeking a volunteer private guardian to assist a 19yo LGBTQ-identified man who has developmental disabilities with surrogate decision-making related to health and living situation. Private guardians are not financially responsible for those they assume guardianship of, do not provide housing or any other basic needs, nor are they legally responsible if the individual engages in criminal acts. Guardians are solely responsible for assisting with decision-making; in this case, private guardianship will prevent reunification with family members who are not supportive of the individual's sexual orientation. Training/mentorship will be provided. For more information, please contact Joan Stevens in the Office of the Public Guardian at (802) 388-4693

After completion of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to enroll in a raffle in which one individual will receive the latest edition of the Apple IPad Mini. MSM CONFIDENTIAL SURVEY
The Research Group on Disparities in Health within the Department of Health and Behavior Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York, New York is studying what men who have sex with men (MSM) need when it comes to screening for HIV. You can fill out a confidential survey to help us learn what men who have sex with men (MSM) need when it comes to screening for HIV. This includes watching and rating brief Avatar (cartoon-like) videos on reducing one’s risk when having sex, and knowing when to get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Participation in this survey is limited to the first 150 men. Participation in the study takes about 35-45 minutes. After 150 men complete the survey, the computer program will automatically close the survey and send out bar–coded gift certificates for use at www.Amazon.com to three randomly chosen e-mail accounts ($300, $200 or $100) without in any way linking your identity to the survey results. Seeking Online Study Participants
My name is Sebastian Barr, under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Budge, and I am currently conducting a research project as part of my doctoral program that explores well-being in individuals who have undergone a gender transition (including but not limited to people who identify as female, male, genderqueer, transgender female, transgender male, stealth, binary, non-binary). To qualify for the study, participants must have undergone some degree of a social and/or medical gender transition (for many participants this can be phrased as living as a gender different from the sex they were assigned at birth) and be over the age of 18. Participation involves completing an online questionnaire that will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. The information collected may or may not benefit you directly; however, you will have the opportunity to reflect on a range of life experiences and emotions (both seemingly related and unrelated to transition). Some people may find this to be helpful. Additionally, the information learned in this study may be helpful to others in understanding how different approaches to individuals’ identities can result in higher levels of well-being. This could lead to important applications in therapy and counseling. It is extremely important to us that the research reflects the wide range of identities and experiences of those who have gone through a gender transition, so we strongly encourage the participation of individuals who are often left out of other studies, e.g., those who live stealth or do not identify as transgender, as well as people with non-binary identities. If you are interested in being a part of this study, you can complete the questionnaire Here. If you have any questions, please contact Sebastian Barr or Stephanie Budge. Thank you, Sebastian Mitchell Barr Doctoral Student, Counseling Psychology Educational and Counseling Psychology University of Louisville

Call for LGBT participants for online survey (unique health needs of LGBT people living in urban and rural areas)
Hello, I am part of a research team at Georgia Southern University conducting a research project designed to help describe the unique health needs of LGBT people living in urban and rural areas. As part of this project, we are collecting data from individuals who identity as sexual and/or gender minorities. We are hoping that you may be willing to complete an anonymous online questionnaire and/or pass on this information to others who may be eligible to participate in order to promote a greater understanding and awareness of the unique experiences and needs of the LGBT community. By participating in this online research study that aims to examine the relationship between geographic location, experiences with healthcare providers, and physical and psychological well-being in individuals who identify as a sexual or gender minority (i.e., lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, queer, etc.), you could be 1 of 30 people to win a $50 gift certificate to Amazon.com while also providing valuable information that will be used to advocate for and design culturally sensitive preventive programs and interventions specifically designed for the needs of the LGBT community. Study participation is expected to take between 30-45 minutes using our online survey provided at the end of this email. Your responses will be entirely anonymous and you have the option to exit the survey at any time. In order to participate, you must: 1) Identify as a sexual or gender minority (i.e., lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, queer, etc.) 2) Be over the age of 18 Thirty $50 gift certificates to Amazon.com will be randomly awarded to participants at the end of data collection.
