Queer Summits
RU12? began organizing Queer Summits to bring together lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) groups, organizations and community activists from across Vermont on a regular basis. This need was once met by the Queer Town Meeting, an event organized by Equality Vermont (once the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights). The Queer Summit is an all day event for organizers at both staff and volunteer led organizations and groups from across the state to come together to learn more about each other’s work, to support each other and to plan our future work together.
This important networking and organizing event has been organized over the years by leaders at organizations including Outright Vermont, VT Freedom to Marry Taskforce, the Samara Foundation, Vermont CARES and RU12?
The most recent Queer Summit happened in Montpelier in November 2007. Check back for information about the next Summit in 2008.
