Vermont TransAction
VT TransAction is a coalition of community members and organizations that formed in 2004 to pass legislation in Vermont to get gender identity and gender expression included in Vermont's non-discrimination legislation. In July 2007 the Gender Identity Non-discrimination bill was passed into law, creating legal protections for transgender Vermonters. The new law adds "gender identity" to the classes of people who are protected from discrimination in employment, housing, banking, public accommodations and other statutes.
Our work is not done however! TransAction is now working on the implementation of the new law and related issues and invite all VT
Transgender folk and allies to join in the work of VT TransAction. Our meeting date is the
first Thursday of the month, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at RU12. Teleconference
hook up an option upon request.
